Not feeling my best today, was OK this morning but I'm missing my mum so much it hurts. I had a really vivid dream about her and its just emphasised what a big hole she's left in my life. Don't get me wrong, most of the time, I'm happy with my lot in life but every now and then the grief hits me like a brick wall :-(
Anyway, on a happier note, it looks as though we may have found an all inclusive holiday at the right price so Tenerife here I come (hopefully!!). The hotel gets mixed reviews but some people expect too much for their money so I'm willing to keep an open mind and go with the view of just enjoying myself. It gives me something to look forward to and a goal to aim for with my slimming, i.e. get down to bikini size before I go!! Its been a long time since I could wear a bikini so it will be wonderful if I can achieve it ;-)

Amazing day
Wow! What an amazing day!! Can't mention everything that's happened yet but I'm blown away by how fantastic today has been :-) Not least of which because I've managed some cracking exercise today ... cycling to & from work, power-walking and then spinning (my first ever class and, just like Zumba, I'm well and truly hooked!!). It's 21 years today since my Nana passed away and I really feel like all my spirit-side family is looking out for me at the moment. I feel humbled and blessed with the unusual good fortune I'm experiencing (and no, I haven't won the lottery, in case you were wondering!!).
Last night was an exciting night too, we had a massive fire on the allotments opposite - complete with exploding gas canisters & aerosols at about midnight last night. Was really worried that the windows were going to be put through at one point but fortunately we were safe. It took three fire engine's worth of water to put the blaze out, although couldn't get a good gawp at all those hunky firemen in the dark ;-)

What a week ... and its only Wednesday!
Blimey, things have been a bit hectic this week ... so many things to remember and do! It got off to a bad start on Monday evening though when my oven blew whilst I was cooking my dinner, fortunately the hob still worked so I could finish the meal off on there but it meant another call to the landlord for the second week in succession. Last week I had to ring him because of the water coming through my kitchen ceiling! Anyway, he managed to get hold of me a new oven and it was installed today so no great hardship was endured, thankfully!
The diet is still going well, I'm stilllosing weight even though I'm not really eating that healthily but I think that's down to the amount of exercise I'm doing. I'm lined up to go to my first spinning class tomorrow night, I hope its not too hard though because I twanged a hamstring at aerobics last night and its still feeling a bit sore despite giving it a good stretch on the pushbike today.
Looking forward to the bank holiday weekend this weekend, I'm hoping my belated birthday present turns up soon (in the form of a mountain bike!), I really need to get back on track with MTBing and start using my pass for Dalby again, although it will be heaving there this weekend so probably just as well that I haven't got a new one yet.
Oh well, we're over the hump now, all downhill to the weekend :-)

Fruitless
Oops! No studying done today ... was supposed to be getting my nose to the grindstone this afternoon but have spent all day on Facebook and Twitter instead. Mind you, at least I have done one productive thing today and gone to my first Zumba class. Wow! I think I'm hooked already, its fantastic ... even though a stick of celery has more rhythm than me! I don't care if I can't do it properly, its brilliant fun and a blinking good workout into the bargain :-D

My First Blog
Well, this is it, my first ever blog!! I knew being a sad techie that I'd have to do it one day ;-) So here I am, on a gorgeous, hot sunny Sunday afternoon sat at my computer ... hmmmm, think I should really be out on the bike or in a pub beer garden but I'm really supposed to be studying however I just can't seem to get motivated at the moment.
